About Kate

HI! Im Kate, the creator of PIRL by Kate and heres a rundown of how I got here.

I’ve created this website and community in hopes to bring the season of postpartum to light for moms, dads, and those on the journey of parenthood in the midst of potential chaos. There are resources and plenty of talk out there about the experience of pregnancy. I have realized that the resources dwindle when it comes to postpartum.

With this realization I have decided to create a site, community, and soon to be podcast where moms, dads, and nannies can come together and talk, learn, and laugh about the experiences they are having. I’ve included nannies in this because I have been a career nanny for the past 6+ years. I have worked with moms and dads going through these phases multiple times, therefore I wanted to create this space for them to explore.

I’m excited to be on this journey with you all! Having someone in your corner through the thick of postpartum to the greatness will make this chapter in your life a lot less stressful and a lot more joyful.

My whole background is babies. I have my BA from CSULB in Child Development with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education. From there I went on to teach infants and toddlers in a Child Development Center. Those methods are still a foundation on how I operate with families and little ones. After a few years at the center I moved down to San Diego, CA and took on a role of Sports Educator for preschools around the county. We taught sports, nutrition, and muscles! So much FUN! This is the same time I took on my first full time nanny position. I spent 2 years in this position and needed a change in my life. I wanted to pursue traveling and focus on self-growth. So, I moved to New York City and jumped in a couple career nanny positions that involved intense traveling. I’ve been to South Africa (4 wks), London, Germany (5 wks), and Miami with these families.

My passion for babies has grown exponentially, I didn’t even know that was possible!  My drive, heart, and passion have gotten me here and I can't wait to see where PIRLbyKate takes us as a community.
